Bringing together four internationally renowned artists, this series serves as an experiment in pedagogy and inaugurates a new collaboration between Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar).
The invited artists offer a unique introduction to research-driven artistic practices, with a particular focus on architecture and infrastructure.
The public lectures are open to all, while the accompanying seminar, led by writer and curator Tirdad Zolghadr, is open to students across Education City in Doha.
Moving between Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the Department of Fine Arts at VCUarts Qatar, the programme establishes an active connection between museum and school. It creates a space for sustained dialogue around contemporary artistic practice while proposing a hopeful model for the future of arts education.
