Forty first year art and design students each contribute a dish for this evening’s iftar. This Ramadan, we present a sumptuous culinary delight, meticulously crafted purely out of paper. This sculpture is the culmination of a class project in VCUart Qatar’s Surface and Space Research Studios in Art Foundation. At its core, it presents a project of material exploration, highlighting the idea that a collection of individual creations can form a cohesive whole greater than the sum of its parts — a moment captured at a Ramadan sunset.
