Aparna Andhare

Aparna Andhare is an independent art historian, curator, and writer based in Pune. She is keenly interested in how cosmopolitanism is reflected in early modern art and architecture. Her career began in media as a television producer and reporter before transitioning to art history, and she brings unique communication skills to her work. Andhare was a curator at the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, City Palace, Jaipur, gaining significant experience in museum practice and collection management. She holds a Master of Arts in Art History from the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University (2010-2012).

She furthered her studies at the University of Edinburgh (2016-2017). Andhare actively researches and writes, contributing to catalogues and research essays. She regularly teaches courses on art history and museum collections. A significant ongoing project involves researching silverware at the Zapurza Museum of Art, supported by an Archives and Museums programme grant (2024-2025) from the India Foundation for Arts, underscoring her commitment to interpreting historical art forms.
