Nour Asalia (1984-) is a Syrian artist and researcher. She holds a master’s degree in art history and a PhD in aesthetics. Her thesis developed a theory of fragility in sculpture. She is the head researcher of the Modern Art Syria Archive project, an initiative by the Atassi Foundation. Her writings focus on modern and contemporary Syrian art, including Said Tahsin 1904-1985, The Artist and the Man (2025), Regards No 32, Beirut: Saint Joseph University (2025), Fikr Institute online essays (2024), the catalogue of the exhibition Shining on Your Days, Gwangju: Asian Cultural Center (2023), Images de chair et de sang penser le corps en Syrie (2011-2021), Beirut: Ifpo (2021) and in the Atassi Foundation’s Journal. Asalia was an instructor at the Second Faculty of Fine Arts in Syria.
